Black Clothes gray after washing - What can I do about it?

Question by Guest | 2014-04-06 at 18:09

I am really loving black gears, no matter whether Jeans, pants or tops. However, my joy is never of long duration.

Barely three or four times washed, the clothing is no longer black and it is becoming more and more gray, the more often I wash them.

What can I do to keep the black color even after multiple washings?

I have 3 tips for you for keeping the color in the clothing for a longer time:

  • Wash inside: Always turn around the clothes when washing them, so that the outside is at the inside. When the inside loses its color, this is not so bad.
  • Detergent: Many detergents contain bleaching means, making the laundry bright and white. Make sure to only use detergents without bleach or detergents that is especially made for black lingerie for your black clothes.
  • Temperature: The temperature of the washing machine should be set as low as possible. The higher the temperature, the more aggressive the color is washed out of the clothing.

Of course, you cannot completely prevent that clothes are loosing color after frequent washings, but I hope these tips can help you keeping your joy in your clothes for a longer time than before.
