Linux/Ubuntu: Show hidden Files and Folders in Directory
Question by Guest | 2014-01-23 at 15:55
I need to change a file in Linux (Ubuntu), which is apparently located in a hidden directory (system folder). The folder starts with a dot, maybe that's the reason why it cannot be seen in the five browser Nautilus.
How can I make the hidden files and folders visible in Linux Explorer?

If you would like to view the files and folders only once for a short time, you can simply press the keys CTRL + H while your are browsing the appropriate directory.
If you want to have the files and directories permanently visible, go into the settings of Nautilus "Edit > Preferences" and activate the option "Show hidden and backup files" there.
