Meaning of PSU in a Computer
Question by Guest | 2017-11-21 at 12:53
What does the abbreviation PSU mean with regard to a computer? I am currently looking for a new desktop computer and some descriptions refer to a so-called PSU. Can anyone tell me what that is? And do you need that for your computer?

PSU is the English abbreviation for Power Supply Unit. This means nothing more than the power adapter, which receives the power from the socket and distributes it to the individual parts of the computer.
So, your question about whether you need a PSU has probably been resolved. Of course, a computer needs power and without a power supply, that will be difficult.
