Old Firefox releases for testing a website
Tip by Progger99 | 2012-06-11 at 20:36
When developing a website, it is necessary to test it in different browsers to verify the compatibility of the site. However, there's one small problem: How can I get the old versions and how do I install the old versions in parallel? Especially in the case of Firefox, it is not possible to install multiple versions. Nonetheless, there is a simple solution.
Old portable Firefox releases
On portableapps.com, under "Legacy Versions" on the bottom of the page, there are the versions 1.0, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and 3.6 available for download. The versions are portable, meaning they can be installed and run independent from the system from a folder (also on an USB stick). So, it is possible to run multiple versions of Firefox - but only one by one. You can always only open one version of Firefox simultaneously.
