Firefox: Undo "Never Remember Password for This Site"

Question by RainMan | Last update on 2022-11-19 | Created on 2014-06-12

When signing up for my mail account, I have clicked on the option "Never Remember Password for This Site" by mistake.

Gladly, I would like to reverse this choice, because at the moment I am forced to enter my password each time I want to look for my mails again, which is a very annoying.

It is possible to reset the Firefox browser in a way that I am nevertheless able to save my password?

In the Firefox settings, you can find a list of all websites for which no passwords should be saved.

You can remove your mail provider from this list in the following way:

  1. Go to the menu "Settings" (for example by using the Firefox menu button or by pressing the ALT key and selecting "Tools > Options" from the menu)
  2. Click on the tab "Security"
  3. In the area "Passwords", click on the button "Exceptions"
  4. A new window "Passwords for the following sites will not be saved" opens. Here you can select your desired website and click on "Remove"

After that, the normal old dialog should be shown again in which you can specify whether the password should be saved or not.
