OpenOffice Calc: Line Break within a Cell
Question by GetMeNow | Last update on 2022-07-27 | Created on 2015-02-13
In Microsoft Excel, it is possible to insert multiline texts in cells using the key combination ALT + ENTER. Unfortunately, this seems not to work this way using the spreadsheet software Calc from the Open Office or LibreOffice Suite.
When pressing ALT + ENTER in a field of an OpenOffice table, nothing happens. It is not possible to type linebreaks with this. What am I doing wrong? How to write multi line texts with OpenOffice Calc?

In OpenOffice and LibreOffice, you have to use the key combination CTRL + ENTER instead of the keys ALT + ENTER.
When using macOS, accordingly CMD + ENTER.
