What do you need a sweatband for?
Question by Guest | 2018-04-17 at 23:17
I have often seen athletes using sweatbands. Mostly on the forehead, but sometimes also on the arms, especially tennis players seem to like to use sweatbands. Can someone tell me what that is supposed to? Or should it just look good and professional?

As the name implies, a sweatband should keep the sweat from running down on you.
When the sweatbands are worn around the forehead, the sweat that runs down your head will be stopped instead of getting in your eyes.
Your tennis players like to wear sweatbands around their wrists to stop the sweat from reaching their arms which would make their hands slippery. That would be fatal, because a tennis player, of course, must keep his stick firmly under control and sweat would disturb it.
Wristbands should not just look beautiful, they also have a real use in sports.
