Windows Explorer: Double-Click opens Properties-Dialog
Question by Guest | 2013-04-08 at 22:03
I really do not know what happened and how it could happen: From one day to the other, my Windows Explorer became buggy.
Every time, I double-click a file or a folder to open it, instead the properties dialog of the file or folder opens!
How can this happen and how can I retrieve the old behavior and get back to my files?

Of course, also a virus can provoke this behavior, but more likely, it is something with your keyboard.
If you hold down the ALT key in the Explorer while double-clicking on a file, the properties dialog is displayed. Therefore, if everything else is in order, it may be that your ALT key is blocked. That also happened to me some time ago.
Here, a cleaning of the keyboard or a raising of the ALT key can do wonders.
Nevertheless, to be sure, additionally, I would check the system for a virus or malware.
