Grate Horseradish without Crying

Grating or rubbing horse radish is a lot worse than cutting onions for me. It does not last 10 seconds until I have the first tears in my eyes! No wonder, the biting aerosols can spread much better from those small pieces than from the large sliced onion slices!

But what can we do against it? Luckily, a friend gave me a fabulous tip:

• Just freeze the horse radish before grating!

The frozen radish can be rubbed just as well as the unfrozen one. And it does not smell!
