Rosenmontag (Rose Monday or Shrove Monday) is the Monday before Ash Wednesday. Womens Carnival Day (Altweiber or Weiberfastnacht) is the Thursday before Ash Wednesday. Here you will find the dates for Rosenmontag as well as the dates for Womens Carnival Day.

Just like Rose Monday and Womens Carnival Day, also Ash Wednesday is not a public nonbusiness day in Germany.
