Delete Columns in many CSV Files

Question by Guest | 2023-04-04 at 14:44

I have a large amount of CSV files from which I want to delete a specific column. Of course, I could open each individual file in Excel or LibreOffice, but that would be far too much work with so many files.

Is there a way to edit all files at the same time and make the deletion quick and easy that way?

With the TextConverter, an arbitrary number of CSV files can be processed simultaneously.

To delete one or more columns from CSV files, you can do the following:

  • First, drag all files from which you want to delete the columns onto the TextConverter or open a folder using the button "Add Files from Folder".
  • Activate the CSV Action "Delete Columns" on the right side of the program under "Actions > CSV".
  • Under "Delete these Columns", specify which columns you want to delete. You can define individual columns (e.g. "1" or "3") or several columns at the same time (e.g. "2-5" or "1,3,5-8").
  • In the Storage Options at the bottom right you can determine whether the original files should be overwritten or whether the result should be saved as a new file.

Once all these settings have been made, you can delete the columns by clicking on the button "Convert and Save".
