How to change attributes (date created, date modified etc) for folders?

Question by Guest | 2025-06-28 at 06:13

How do you change attributes (date created, date modified etc) for folders?

I tried adding folders and doing the above but only get a "Error - processing failed" status.

Is it possible that you have the folders open in the explorer or the like so that they can't be changed?

Hi,

I tried "Apply Change" after closing all file explorer windows, same result.

1. Open Filerenamer

2. Tick include folders only

3. Drag a random folder into application.

4. tick modified, set change to a random date and time

5. Apply Changes

6. Status show "error - processing failed.

I tried later with the other attributes like hidden, read only, created etc same results.

And the same is working for files?

Which operating system are you using and do you have write access to the folders?

Working for files, including files inside the folder (if i tick include for both files and folder and drag a folder into the application).

Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (build 26100.3775).

I use a admin account, have full control over the folders.

I have just found a solution for the problem. Beyond the folder dates, it is now also working properly for folder attributes which had some issues, too.

Please contact me via my contact form so that I can send you a version for testing.
