How to destroy confidential documents without a shredder
Question by Guest | 2019-03-01 at 18:00
I store some confidential paper documents in my house that are no longer needed. The files concern the company of my boss, I work from home. When my boss told me our company did not need the documents anymore, he told me to destroy the files.
I have to admit that I've been in a lot of panic ever since. In our company, such documents are shredded in a document shredder. I do not own such an annihilator, but I did not dare to tell my boss. Surely my boss already thinks that the documents are already destroyed.
But what should I do now? How do I get rid of the docs? I can not throw them in the paper bin under any circumstances, they are confidential! But without a shredder I can not do anything! And I can not keep them! What should I do? I'm desperate!

Quite simple: Just burn them! Make a little fire in your garden, make yourself comfortable in front of it and just throw one page after the other into the fire. This will settle the problem and you have a nice evening.

I can not do this! I do not have a garden, nor is the method safe enough for me. I have seen in a thriller on television that burned documents could easily be reconstructed. Does nobody have another idea?

Well, if burning it is not safe enough, then the shredder should not be secure enough for you, too. After all, it is often seen in various thrillers that someone bothers to reassemble millions of snippets.
But if that's safer for you, grab a pair of scissors or a cutter and just cut the pages.

I have not thought of that, but it will take ages before I'm done with it! But the idea with the pair of scissors is really good. I do not know yet, how long I need, these are several documents, but luckily I have soon three weeks vacation, which I can then use meaningful.

If you really want to do that, be careful to cut as narrow strips as possible, otherwise you can really puzzled that together! I still think the idea with the fire is best. You can also burn the snippets.

I also realize that this is probably several weeks of work and that you really have to cut and work pin-prone, but I owe that to my boss. I really do not want to make a mistake!

Then better let your boss not hear, with what you have wasted your precious annual leave...
