Set default attributes alternation configuration?

Question by Guest | 2026-03-29 at 10:00

Hello Stefan, would you kindly consider adding an option to set default attributes alternation configuration, i.e. setting default time for creation/modification/accessed time?

I'd like to add that there's kind of a bug when copying and pasting date and time between creation/modification/accessed time in Windows: when pasted, time adds one zero in the beginning. In example, try pasting this time and see it yourself: 01.01.2020 01:00:00. I'm using FileRenamer 24.8.14.

Thank you for the continued support of the tool once again!

P.S. Sorry, I cannot remember my password (my account is BANANAKID, I have posted here previously) and there's no restore password link anywhere.

What do you mean with "default attributes alternation configuration" and in which regard?

Thank you very much for reporting that bug, I will have a look at it.

Regarding your account, I have just tried to send you a new reseted password to the email address with which you have registered here but I only got back a "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender" message.

Thank you for approving this thread, Stefan. By "default attributes alternation configuration" I mean the following (I will provide time-related example, but it may be applied to all attributes). Currently, once you check "Attributes" → "Created", it defaults to "Keep", and "Change to" equals current time. The preference I'm asking to consider implemented would make it possible to set default options (or remember last used maybe), when you use Attributes. For instance, you can set default option that is selected once you check "Created" to "Change to" and also set that "Change to" value is always "01.01.2020 01:00:00" (or last used maybe). This will make repetative processing via GUI easier. The section in Options could me named Attributes similarly to Numbering. Please let me know if I should elaborate further on the matter!

P.S. Thank you so much for resending the access link. I'll double-check if I can login later, maybe my VPN malfunctions, maybe something different interferes. Sorry for that!

If I understand you right, you just want to save your (last) settings.

That can already be done. Just activate the option "Start Settings > Save automatically on closing" from the settings (menu "Settings > Save or Load Settings".

Hello Stefam, you're correct 100%! I forgot I have Start.frs settings file set and didn't re-save it. Thank you so much for helping me out, it works now!
