Question by SkyMan | 2014-06-30 at 20:24

Most matches of the World Cup take place at 18:00 h, 22:00 h or midnight.

I am interested in the local times at which those games are officially hold in Brazil. So, I want to know how large the time shift between Europe and Brazil is.

Between central Europe and Brazil, there is a time difference of 5 to 6 hours. For the eastern part of the country at the coast, it is 5 hours earlier than here, in the west, it is a 6 hour time shift.

Most matches at 18:00 h, 22:00 h or midnight are played at a local time of 13:00 h, 17:00 h or 19:00 h. That are the games hold in the stadiums in Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Natal, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador da Bahia and São Paulo.

Only the stadiums in Manaus und Cuiabá are located in the time zone with a difference of six hours. For those games, the local times are 12:00 h, 16:00 h and 18:00 h.
