The winner of the first Football/Soccer World Cup (held in Uruguay 1930) was Uruguay (4-2 against Argentina in the finals).
Overall, the first World Cup only had 13 participants.
Most teams came from South America (Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay). Mexico and the USA represented the rest of America. From Europe, only Belgium, France, Yugoslavia and Romania came to this World Cup. Therefore, many of today's favorites not even participated.
