Endurance Training - Better before or after Weight Training?

Question by Guest | 2018-01-11 at 12:29

I have not been in the gym for a long time and I am still unsure about some things. One question concerns the correct order of cardio training (endurance/stamina training) and weight training (lift weights).

Is it better to do the strength training first and then to do the stamina or vice versa?

The right time for endurance training is definitely after weight training. It is best to first warm up briefly for about 10 minutes (for example, on the bike or the cross-trainer), then join the strength training and finally attach the endurance training for about 30-45 minutes.

The reason is: If you start the training, your energy reserves are still filled. These are ideal conditions for strength/weight training, because here you need maximum energy. After the strength training your energy reserves are exhausted and the endurance training can directly burn your fat reserves.

If you would do the endurance training first, you would not have the power to do the strength training

Therefore, the optimal order is: warm-up - strength - endurance.
