Gel Nails: When should I replace my UV-Tubes?
Question by Guest | 2014-06-27 at 22:58
I am making my fingernails (gel nails) on my own and I have also acquired my own UV lamp for this purpose. One of my friends is also making nails and my impression is that she is permanently changing her UV tubes.
Personally, I think, that my tubes are still working very good and that is why I wonder whether it is necessary to change the tubes at all or if it is even overdue to replace them because I am running them for so long.
Can someone tell me, when it is the best time to replace my UV tubes?

If the gel still hardens well under your UV lamp, you do not have to think about new tubes.
When time goes by, the tubes are becoming weaker and weaker before they will break completely. You can notice this when nail curing takes longer and longer.
Probably, your friend is also making nails for others, so that she is using her UV lamp more often. The more operating hours your UV lamp has, the sooner it will be broken.
