Gel Nails: UV-Lamp with 2 Tubes sufficient?
Question by Shop Me | 2014-11-17 at 10:57
Slowly but surely, my nail salon is getting a little bit too expensive for me. For this reason, I would like to try making my fingernails (gel nails) for myself.
At the moment, I am trying to get all of the equipment that is necessary. I have found a cheap UV lamp in town, but this lamp only has 2 tubes. I remember the lamp from the nail studio was much more bigger and seems to be more professional in some way.
Hence my question: Is a UV lamp with only 2 tubes sufficient for creating own gel nails?

You will not enjoy a UV lamp having only two tubes: the curing of the gel under such a kind of lamp takes ages and the results are extremely uneven in most cases when not positioning the nails at the optimum angle relative to the tubes.
My recommendation: Take a device with at least 4 tubes, each tube having at least 9 watts. Otherwise it is not fun.
