Do corsets come more and more into fashion?

Question by Laura89 | 2013-07-24 at 23:38

Since the last few years I am seeing more and more girls and women wearing a corset in public. Maybe 5 years ago or so, I only knew that from some scenes like the Gothic scene, but nowadays corsets increasingly seem to come to and are worn by the "normal" society.

Sometimes the corset is worn to replace the entire upper part of the clothing and is then correspondingly long and covers the chest, sometimes corsets are worn to highlight the waist, then they are shorter (waist line corset) or even they are worn discreetly under clothing.

I have to admit that I also tempt to wear a corset. I am really fascinated by the sight and I think a corset is incredibly feminine. But is it really not a problem to wear a corset today? Or are all people looking horrified in this case? And might a corset not be a little bit uncomfortable and too tight? After all, half of the belly disappears in it..

I simply ask these questions here. Maybe someone can say something about it..

Regarding corsets, not long ago, I have been just as skeptical as you seem to be today. At some point. I had the courage to order a cheap one on the Internet to just try it.

And I must say, I was impressed from the very first moment on. I've looked at myself in the mirror for a very long time because my figure just looked amazing, I could not get enough of it! Meanwhile, I have purchased several (more expensive) corsets and I am wearing them regularly, especially to special occasions.

Regarding your other concerns: I really do not feel uncomfortable in the corset, quite it is the opposite! Rather it gives me the feeling of being pleasantly enclosed, I love it. But of course, it always depends on how tight you are lacing your corset. With that, please do not make the mistake to lace it super tight from the beginning! Your body has to have some time to get used to it and you should slowly increase the lacing. Otherwise, the fun is over and it quickly becomes uncomfortable.

Regarding the cruddy glances of others, I have also made a rather opposite experience. In general, I'm admired by others for the corset, maybe because it is very aesthetic, almost like a half evening gown. Naturally, it depends on where you wear it, but at a party or at a special occasion and sometimes outside, you can not really go wrong.

I also noticed that increasingly more corsets are worn in public, and I think it's perfectly fine. Just give it a try!

By the way, you can wear a corset having each figure, no matter whether you are slim or slightly thicker.

Nevertheless, I must say that especially thicker people can extremely benefit from wearing a corset. A friend of mine is such a girl that was always very unimpressive and flabby - but her corset got her curves so well in scene that she has become the star of many a nights.

Personally, I think corsets are the insiders tip under the garments and can be worn both in the summer and in the winter.

But beware: A corset can be addictive!
